This is a view looking south along the Cañon Galindo in Querétaro, Mexico. The landscape in this region is flat with distant mountains, but when one drives up from Hacienda San Gil, there is a place where the cañon surprisingly appears next to the road. A little further on is the Hacienda Galindo which is on land given by Cortes to Malinche and which is today a hotel and a great place to get a Sunday brunch. This was painted with pastel on a base of gesso on pressboard, giving it a rather more rough and abstract look than sanded pastel paper.
